Goodbye, Summer: Shopping for Autumn with Weekday Stores

Grab your blankets and get yourself a massive cup of tea: summer’s over, folks. At least Weekday Stores has our *shivering* backs.

It seems like just yesterday that I was living and working in Brussels. How quickly is this year going please? Can we slow down? But it also feels like yesterday that the tepid summer sun was beating down on all of our wearied backs. I hope you can hear the despair coming through this text: as much as I love autumn fashion, I’m really not built for the cold.

I shot these photos back when I was living in Brussels during one of the hottest Sundays ever (friends: it was wonderful). I’d just visited Antwerp for the first time the day before, where I checked out the Margiela Hermes exhibition, explored the center of town – very London-Shoreditchy-slash-New-York-Soho-esque – and generally enjoyed the abnormally hot weather.

One of the things I discovered during this trip was Weekday, the Swedish-based fashion and denim brand that set up shop on Regent Street earlier this year. You can’t help but to love the aesthetic: elevated basics, simple yet stylish silhouettes, and an autumn wardrobe offering which is everything that you would expect from a label that’s part of the H&M group (alongside the likes of Monki, & Other Stories and Cos).

I left Antwerp that weekend feeling fully revitalised and much lighter. That’s both in mind and wallet, by the way.
