How To: The Statement Earring

How To: The Statement Earring

Here’s a fun fact about me: I typically DETEST large earrings. I’ll never forget the mild rage I felt when one of the girls on my year at school bought me a pair of large gold hoop earrings for my 17th birthday. At the time, I smiled, said thank you and kept it moving. But in my mind I was shouting “WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ME WEARING BIG HOOP EARRINGS?” at her like a banshee. Classy. Anyway, the comfort zone that is basic diamond-esque studs (or teeny tiny hoops) is where I have lived for as long as I can remember.

And yet, despite all of the above, large statement earrings seem to be the accessory I’m most keen to try out this summer. I’m currently obsessed with two pairs in particular – the first being this “Don’t Mess” triangle pair by Sally Lane Jewellery (which you might have spotted in this post) and this second pair that I picked up in H&M years ago.

One thing I particularly love about Sally Jane Jewellery is that the brand’s all about celebrating strong yet feminine women *cue sparkles emoji and clicks fingers*. So take this as a cue to celebrate yourself (yes, you) whoever you are, and wherever you’re reading this from.

Are you into statement earrings? Or do you tend to stick to simple studs as I often do? Comment below and let me know!

(P.S. the lovely Sally herself published a little interview I did with her over on her own blog – go have a read of it here.)

  • I love a good statement earring! The bolder the earring the better in my opinion. I also love your bracelets – where are they from?
