Let’s be honest: a vest top and denim is hardly awe-inspiring. But sometimes you’ve just got to say “fork it” to social media and stay true to your personal style.
Social media can be stressful, you know.
Whenever I come to creating style posts for this blog, my first thought is usually to opt for weird and wonderful items of clothing (like these conversation starters) that are most likely to stand out on social media feeds. This sounds kinda douchy – I know, and it is – but ask your friendly local fashion blogger to tell the truth and shame the devil about their thought process on choosing an outfit and I GUARANTEE you that Instagram will be part of the answer.
But what happens when it becomes socially unacceptable to wear the same “cool outfit” two blog posts in a row? Well, outfit posts like this. Because as much as my family like to go on and on about the quantity of clothing I currently have in my bedroom, I’m really just a girl who loves to wear denim and (horrendously painful) Balenciaga boots and too much black on rotation. I’d say that you guys get to see a more polished version of my personal style on these pages. But on a regular lazy Saturday? Catch me (outside) in a turtleneck jumper, mom jeans and black ankle boots. But that’s me, being true to my personal style.
On that note, I’ll be highly surprised if this outfit bangs on Instagram. Because if we’re all honest, it’s not necessarily the most inspiring. As I say, tell the truth and shame the devil. But it’s real – and that for me is the most important thing.
